| Jimmy & Starla Queen are both award winning artists and play a variety of music. Jimmy is a former St. Louis Entertainer, Drummer, and Band Leader of the Year. Starla received the National Academy of Western Artists "2007 Western Swing Song of the Year" and was nominated for female vocalist of the year and cd of the year. The queens have received airplay and appeared on both domestic and international indie music charts. Jimmy has been a member of the International Steel Guitar Convention staff band for over 25 years. Jimmy has opened for several major country music artists in the past, was music director of TNN's pilot "Pappy's Place", and the couple has actually backed and performed with several country music legends. This local duo has been performing around the lake area for over 10 years. Though the duo has an extensive background in country music, they play a variety of styles of music including; new country, traditional red dirt country, swing, disco, jazz, rock, oldies,and blues. The couple also performs live (no tracks) with Jimmy on guitar, keyboard, and harmonica and Starla on bass. |

| Blues'n the Midwest and beyond with dynamic performances, the Doghouse Daddies’ rock solid band has become a favorite on both sides of the Mississippi! Powerful vocals complimented with well blended harmonies are a testimony to this band’s many years of experience. DHD’s love and passion for their music gives them the inspiration to push themselves to limits never imagined, but always dreamed of. Band member Bill Morlan, lead vocals & upright bass, sets just the right feel with his gritty voice, accompanied by Brandon Skeens on guitar, and Brian Connett on drums, AND lending their vocal talents, cooking up just the right blend. Then adding Neil Nolan on saxophone and harmonica, makes a steamy helping of Blues that’s hard to pass up. Doghouse Daddies band has had the privilege of being International Blues Challenge Semi-Finalists in 2007 and International Blues Challenge FINALISTS IN 2008!!! YES, WE’VE GOT THE BLUES AND WE LOVE IT!!! |

Mick calls the music he does “Americana Roots." Although each song is grounded in the "Roots" tradition, you can hear the influence of Folk, Rock, Country and his own "Ozark" Blues throughout the performance.
Mick calls the music he does “Americana Roots” because he says “That gives me the freedom to do what I enjoy and what I hope the listeners will enjoy.” Serious music listeners are sure to enjoy the depth and imagery of these story songs. From thoughtful social issues to fun filled songs that make you laugh, folk/rock, country or Mick’s own “Ozark blues” these songs keep you listening. Mick has 7 CD’s and a special 2 song CD with “The Chance” and “Gentle Souls” benefiting Special Olympics Missouri.
Mick has won a national songwriting award from Billboard Magazine for “Afternoon At The Wall.” His guest performance on “River City Folk,” a NPR program hosted by Folk Artist Tom May, has been repeated. “Drivin' That Lawnmower to Town” & “This Old Truck” have been played on the NPR Program, “Car Talk” hosted by Tom and Ray Magliozzi. Mick has also performed twice on “Writer’s Block” hosted by Karen Reynolds on WDVX in Knoxville, TN, a program devoted to independent artists. Mick has the experience of playing on the road in 14 states and the country of Ireland. Mick is a member of the Missouri Arts Council Performing Artists, Mid-America Arts Alliance Touring Roster, Nashville Songwriters Association International and the Americana Music Association. |
