About the Band:
Jewel Carter, known to many as “JC†was born and
raised in Kansas City, Kansas, where he grew up
for the love of music. Both of his parents were very
gifted singers in the church, which it was only inevitable
that he too would have this love for music. He was
exposed to different styles of music and many different
types of musical instruments. At an early age, JC’s
older brothers and sisters played many instruments
in school and church, which exposed and taught
him how to play particular instruments. He decided
to take it to another level. By pursuing the gift of
music, JC has evolved into a phenomenal and
creative artist. JC, at that point, knew the music
industry was his true professional calling and would
be very prosperous at doing just that. Without the
knowledge, the love, and respect of music, failure
could have prevailed at any given moment. JC has
proven above and beyond to be an outstanding
drummer, bassist, vocalist, writer, composer, arranger,
and producer. He has toured over 13 years with
some of the music industries’ well known artists.
He has toured with artists such as: Roger Troutman
& The Gap Band, Teena Marie, Bootsy Collins, Gladys
Knight and the Pips, just to name a few. He also
performed laying down live bass tracks with artists
such as Tupac and Shaq. Two movie soundtrack
credits include Pharsyde’s “ Can’t Stop the Musicâ€
from Good Burger and “Taste†from the Sixth Man.
JC is vigorously making progress to reincorporate
his upbringing style of funk to a new and higher level
. By traveling throughout California, Nevada, Colorado,
JC has been stamped the New King of Funk with
pop, R&B, and Hip-hop all in one. JC’s sound reminds
us of a time when lyrics of a song stirred emotions
in people of all ages, which he performs from the
depth of his heart and soul. JC puts God first and
that’s why he’s a True Performer!!!
